VALE Graham Hewitt

For those of you that were unaware, Graham Hewitt passed away last Sunday.

Graham was a member of the Sport Aircraft Builders Club (SABC) Western Australia based at Serpentine Airfield, and members of the AEGWA had many memorable visits into his hangar for a chat, cup of tea on occassions & chat about aeroplanes.

Graham was always welcoming, and always had the time for planespotters & enthusiasts alike, he will be sadly missed by all, and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family, & members of the SABC at this time.

Graham suffered a stroke earlier this year and never recovered the use of the left side of his body. Graham contracted pneumonia and passed away at 2.25 pm last Sunday afternoon. Graham was an accomplished pilot and an excellent craftsman in both wood and metal. It was great to hear of the progress of his home built plane over the last few years – The Pietenpol Air Camper, a 1929 American designed kit plane - and it's a shame that he didn’t get to fly it for longer. Graham’s daughter Jane has cared for him since his stroke.

The funeral details for Graham are as follows:
Bowra & O’Dea, 1307 Albany Highway, Cannington at 10.00 am on Friday 2nd January 15.
