Emirates will cut the number of seats available on the Perth-Dubai route from October, three months after rival Etihad Airways launches daily flights from Perth to Abu Dhabi.
Emirates said it would temporarily downsize one of its three daily flights from Perth, EK425/424, from a Boeing 777-300ER to a smaller 777-200LR between October and March due to the need to redeploy the larger aircraft on its expanding global network.

Emirates had once planned to upsize one of its daily flights to Perth to an A380.

The West Australian newspaper reported in November 2013, that A380 services form Dubai to Perth would be launched on March 1 2014, but that did not occur.

An Emirates spokeswoman declined to say whether the airline still planned to bring an A380 to Perth.

Emirates is continually in dialogue with airports around the world and is always assessing its operations, however there is nothing to announce at this stage regarding the possibility of operating an A380 to Perth, she said.
