Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) icebreaker & supply vessel Shirase '5003' departed to Japan today, Shirase arrived into Port of Fremantle on Sunday 18th March 2012 ex: Antacrtica via Fremantle enroute back to Japan. This vessels carries two Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) Merlin CH101 helicopters.
This vessel was last noted in Port of Fremantle on 30th November 2011.
